How to Worry Less at the Beach!

Summertime!

Are you ready for piña coladas and sunlight that lasts til 9pm? I know I am!

Or maybe you’re more excited about the idea of hitting the beach again. I’m so ready for that.

But have you ever wondered why it’s ok to leave all your belongings on the sand, while you go int the water? I know I tend to worry a bit.

You wouldn’t leave you valuables on a busy street corner and expect them to be there an hour later, would you?

For some reason though, there’s an unspoken rule that you can leave everything on the sand and it will still be there when you get back, untouched.

But last year we were at the beach for the start of spring break and I saw someone who seemed to be very interested in my beach towel (and the things on top of it) so of course I headed back.

Needless to say the guy left when he saw me coming back, but I didn’t leave my belongings unattended for the rest of the time.

From then on we took turns watching the stuff while the other went into the water. Which is definitely no fun!

So I went searching for a way to protect my stuff, and worry less at the beach.

Beach Tips

These beach tips will help to keep your stuff safe on the sand!

  • Leave everything except you car keys in the car. Then dig a small hole under your beach towel (discreetly, of course) to leave your keys in.
  • Check to see if the beach has lockers -some do!
  • Take turns in the water/ doing water sports
  • Put your cash/credit card in unsuspecting items like a book, an empty chapstick tube, etc

I’ve picked these tips up along the way and hopefully they’ll be good for you too! But I also wanted a way to keep my things with me without wearing a waterproof fanny pack! Enter Lagoa Swimwear

I teamed up with them to share these amazing beach tips, and tell you about their amazing bikinis with pockets! Yes, pockets.

Now, I’ve worn my fair share of bikinis.

From full one piece bathing suits to ity-bity miniature bikinis (sorry dad!)

And I’ve found one thing – not all bikinis are meant for every type of beach activity!

You have some that at good for lounging only, some that keep everything in place for water sports, and then some that go missing in the water! So it’s rare to find that one bikini covers multiple purposes.

I have the Emily High Neck Reversible Top and Gosia Cheeky Reversible Bottom. both in Royal Blue/Aqua. And they are both reversible- just like all of their bikinis!

I personally love the royal blue on my skin tone 🙂

But I was surprised to learn that it also HAS A POCKET! A pocket with a waterproof pouch for your credit card/room key/car key!

So this past weekend we took it for a test run!

I just put my credit card and car key in the waterproof pocket and they actually stayed dry! I am impressed.

I was also able to go paddle boarding without my bikini slipping off when I fell into the water multiple times once.

It hugs my body without having those annoying elastic bands digging into your bum, I checked! And it’s actually cute!

The designer, Lauren, even went one step further to make sure her brand helps, not harms, the ocean – If (and when) you buy one, 10% of sales go to protecting the oceans! And you’ll even get your bikini in eco-friendly packaging.
