Enter the Reypenaer Cheese Room – The best cheese shop Amsterdam. And they are more than a cheese shop! They have the best cheese tasting in Amsterdam PLUS an Amsterdam Cheese and wine cruise. You really can’t go wrong with that.
The best part? They are not expensive at all, making this experience one of the best things to do in Amsterdam!
So on our Amsterdam trip we teamed up with the Reypenaer Cheese Tasting Room to share our experience with you. They did give us this amazing experience in exchange for a review, but we cannot be happier to report that it’s 5 stars all around!

The Cheese Shop
It started one afternoon by searching on Pinterest for things to do in Amsterdam.
You know – the usual travel research.
Well, about 2 or 3 hours in, I came across the Reypenaer Cheese Tasting Room. Their in-house cheese tasting was listed for €16.50 for a one-hour cheese & wine tasting.
That’s 6 different cheeses and 3 glasses of wine, all for under €20 per person.
Crazy, right?
Plus an entire selection of perfectly paired cheeses you can buy to take home after!

The Cheese Tasting
The entire tasting includes a short video, a brief history on their special cheese-making process, and a whole lot of cheese.
We we’re in heaven.
Each cheese was specially paired with a glass of wine, which even included a glass of port, my favorite dessert wine!
And after each type of cheese, you try to guess the flavor notes. You’d be really surprised by some of the soft flavors that each cheese picks up. Take a sneak peek at my tasting chart!
And while this isn’t a full five course meal, obviously, it actually filled us up quite a bit.
And made us a tad bit tipsy 😛
Good thing we walked because riding bike would have been difficult after that!
Overall, we had such an amazing time that we lingered around in the store for a bit and bought a few cheeses to bring back home with us.
So if you’re in Amsterdam even for a short time, we highly recommend this experience.
And apparently we’re not the only ones who love them – Reypenaer actually has several awards for their cheeses, including some world championships under their belt!
How’s that for impressive?
So if you’re traveling to Amsterdam, this is definitely a must-add-to-your-Amsterdam-list kind of experience!
